What is Anxiety?

Anxiety is basically a type of response that is shown by the body when it is encountered by any type of stress. It involves excessive worry and fear about everyday situations. Most people start shivering whenever they face any stressful condition.

Anxiety is normal but if it occurs for a long time then it becomes dangerous. For example, people get nervous, anxious during their exam time, in job interviews. Facing a large audience can also cause people to feel fearful and nervous. This is normal but if your feelings of anxiety are extreme, occur for a long time, and disturb your life then it is dangerous.

Anxiety for a long time becomes an anxiety disorder and it is different from normal response. Excessive anxiety will lead to emotional breakdown. It will make you avoid your regular work, fear from social interaction and will worse your condition.

Anxiety disorders?

Feeling anxious during interviews, planning for the future, or making decision is normal. It is also tough to handle but it motivates you to work harder so you can make your future bright with full confidence. Normal anxiety can come anytime or during any phase of your life but it will not affect your daily life.

But In anxiety disorder, the things are different. In this condition, people start behaving weirdly and there is a feeling of fear with them all the time. Sometimes, this feeling is very intense and can interfere with personal life.

Anxiety Disorder will isolate you from outside world and stop you from doing activities you enjoy. If it not get treated on time then it will keep getting worse.

Anxiety disorders are very common in teenagers. It is a type of emotional disorder that can face by anyone. According to American physiatrist report, Women are more vulnerable than men.

Types of anxiety disorders

There are 5 major types of Anxiety disorder

  4. Specific phobias
  5. Agoraphobiais
  6. Generalized Anxiety Disorder- It is characterized by chronic anxiety, unnecessary worry and stress even when there is little or nothing to provoke it
  7. Panic disorder- It is type of mental disorder which is characterized by unwanted episodes of intense fear. In this condition, body shows physical symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath or dizziness.
  8. Social Anxiety disorder- It is an extreme fear of being judged by others. It cause excessive self-consciousness in social situations. Fear of speaking in front of unknown people or eating or drinking in front of others.
  9. Specific phobis- fear from specific object, condition and situation. Such as fear of:
  • Animals like spiders, dogs or snakes.
  • Blood.
  • Flying.
  • Heights.
  • Injections
  • Agoraphobia- Fear of enclosed spaces.
  • Crowd
  • Open spaces.
  • Places outside your house.
  • Public transportation.

What are the symptoms of anxiety?

General symptoms of anxiety are:-

  • Rapid breathing
  • Body start shivering
  • Fear of loss
  • Restlessness
  • increased heart rate
  • Unable to focus
  • difficulty in sleeping.

An anxiety attack is a feeling of overwhelming worry, distress, or fear. In most people, all their sad emotions get deposited and burst out in form of Anxiety attacks. It gets triggered by stressful even. Anxiety attacks vary greatly from person to person and symptoms also.
Some common symptoms of an anxiety attack are
