Strep throat can be treated but it is better to prevent strep infection:
- Don’t share your personal items with others such as toothbrushes, towels, etc
- Wash your hand with soap at regular intervals of time
- Cover your mouth
- Whenever you feel cough, use a hanky
- Don’t share utensils with an infected person
- Not sharing food, drinks, napkins, and clothes
- having the child cover all coughs and sneezes
- Wash utensils in hot, soapy water or in a dishwasher
Treatment
Strep throat is a bacterial infection. It can be treated by taking antibiotics such as
- penicillin
- amoxicillin
- cephalexin
- cefadroxil
